Our New Winter Initiative

The Match Foundation is starting a grass roots initiative which we have called The Sox Project, to support the current and critical needs of local food shelves, shelters, and community based organizations.  We have created a simple program where everyone can be involved - whether you are just one person, a small company, or a large group/company. Below is more information on our community initiative. We thank you for your interest and involvement in helping others!

Who Needs Soxs and Essentials?

It seems like every community based organization has an on-going urgency for essential products like sox, toothbrushes, washclothes, towels, etc. for their families who need help.  Food shelves, homeless shelters, crisis nursery, they all have a wish for sox and essentials, and we know that the community would like to help!  The Match Foundation is going to help the community fill this need.

Essential Collections

The Essentials Collection is a yearly membership that will support the community by giving monthly “collections” to shelters and other organizations based on their current needs.

Here’s how it works: Each month The Match Foundation will contact community based organizations and identify current and urgent needs. We will create “collections” that fill these needs based on the level of membership. Below are examples of what the collections could consist of. They will be ever-changing based on what is critically needed that month, and each month you will receive details and pictures of what your membership provided to the community.

Recognition: The Match Foundation is grateful for the Essentials Collection members and it is important to us that you are recognized for your membership and support. Each month, you are identified through social media, our website, signs, local newspapers, flyers, your name/logo on the bundle, etc.

Essential Collections Levels of Giving

The Contributor: $5 collection -- A pair of sox, a washcloth, a bar of soap, a toothbrush and toothpaste

The Giver: $10 collection -- A pair of sox, a warm hat, shampoo, deodorant, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a washcloth 

The Guardian: $25 collection -- A blanket, fresh fruit, 2 pair of sox, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a bar of soap, a warm hat, warm mittens, towel and a washcloth. 

The Authentic Advocate: $50 collection A t-shirt, A blanket, fresh fruit combination, 2 pair of sox, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a bar of soap, a warm hat, warm mittens, warm scarf, towel and a washcloth, shampoo, and deodorant.                                                                     

The Super Supporter: $100 collection --A $50 collection for two people - an incredible gift!

The Community Hero: $250 collection The $50 collection for five people - a life changer! 

The Community Warrior: $500 collection The $50 collection for 10 people - the ultimate gift to help so many!

Other Ways for Companies and Businesses to be Involved

Promotion for the Essentials: Does your company have a product or service they would like to promote? This is a wonderful way to help those in need and promote your product or service at the same time.  Some examples would be:  “For every dessert purchased through the end of the year, one pair of sox is given to the homeless shelter” OR “for every *your service* a pair of sox is given to the homeless shelter”.  There are many ways your product and service sales can help those in need. Each pair of sox is $1 – that is a big making a big difference at a small cost! Promotion for the Essentials Kit: This is a similar program, but a percentage of your sales pays for essentials kits for the homeless.  It can be any percentage you choose and is at your discretion. At the end of the month, the funds you have designated will be directed towards essential products to go to the organizations that help those in need.

The Benefits: Both of these programs can be tailored in any way that works for you.  It’s a wonderful thing to do for your community, lets your customers know you care about those families in need, and creates a community awareness of helping others.  It is also nice for your employees to feel they are employed by a company who supports and has a concern for others.

Promotion/Recognition: The Match Foundation is grateful for the companies and individuals involved in The Sox Project, and it is important to us that you and your promotion are recognized in the community. Each month, you are identified as a donor and sponsor through social media, our website, local newspapers, signs, flyers, your name/logo on the bundle, etc. 

Get Your Employees Involved:  We have plenty of ways to get your employees involved in getting essential products to the food shelves and other organizations---please ask us for details!
